I remember the first time I saw a #sketchnote video. I was in a college class that was required of everyone and had nothing to do with my major - I was bored. When my instructor showed us this video of a hand drawing the most amazing drawings with an expo marker, paired with a ted talk relating to my major as the voiceover, my mind was blown. It was safe to say that got me interested!
This week, I took some time to play around with a #sketchnote video for a project, myself. I couldn’t wait to see it come to life and I couldn’t believe I found a free online trial! I began by inserting my graphics and creating an outline, if you will, of what I wanted to explain to my audience. I loved creating a story with images and a few words prior to writing my voice over. It truly made it so much easier. Unfortunately, the trial didn’t live up to my “hype” from the amazing video in college. After creating my visuals, it was time to attach my voiceover. In my experience with iMovie and other video making programs, it’s easy to record, re-record, and even cut your voiceover to match up with your video. This one? Not so much. Take a look at my video below to see - or hear. Although my voiceover isn’t perfect, I absolutely loved starting my project with the visual outline. I am interested to try different programs in the future. Stay tuned!
